St. Andrews Beach Park

There are so many great beaches to stop along Jekyll Island, you can’t go wrong! One of our favorites is St. Andrews Beach Park. Located on the most southern point on the island, it is only a short walk from Jekyll Point. The park offers restroom amenities, a picnic area, and even a two-story wildlife viewing platform. It’s a perfect spot for bird watching, dolphin spotting, and enjoying beautiful beaches. Don’t miss the Wanderer Memory Trail for a historic stroll.

Horton Pond

Horton Pond features an observation deck overlooking the serene pond. The entrance, with a small parking area and bicycle rack, is located across the street from the Villas by the Sea Resort. We spotted turtles, osprey, and even a small alligator that swam right up to the observation deck! Take a walk on the short 0.7-mile nature trail loop, Tupelo Trail, to enjoy the local plant life. For a hands-on experience with American Alligators, you can book tickets for the Park Ranger Tour—Gatorology!

Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island

An absolute must-visit, Driftwood Beach is located on the north side of the island. It features stunning driftwood and weathered trees, creating an otherworldly vibe shaped by years of erosion and changing tides. This is a great place to spend the afternoon playing in the surf and exploring the ancient oaks. The beach is pet friendly (must be leashed), so bring your furry friends along. There are many small parking areas and entrances along North Beachview Drive to access the beach.
