Our adventure begins in Monroe, a quaint town that served as our basecamp. The mountain views are breathtaking, and paragliders can be seen soaring around Monroe Peak. The town of Monroe is surrounded by miles and miles of OHV/ATV trails, a very popular activity for visitors.

Visit the Red Hill Hot Springs (also known as Monroe Hot Springs) first thing in the morning for some relaxation and rejuvenation. Or visit at sunset for lovely views while you soak the day away.

Richfield, Utah

Head to Richfield for lunch at the Ideal Dairy. They offer scrumptious bagel paninis, fresh sandwiches, soups & salads, and for dessert- tasty ice cream and a large selection of sweet treats. We can recommend the Chicken Monterey bagel panini with cream of broccoli soup or the BBQ Chicken Bacon panini with chili. Both were delicious!

Richfield is also the best place in the area for re-stocking supplies. With its large commercial shopping district featuring big box stores, chain restaurants, local eats and large grocery stores.

Sevier: The Big Rock Candy Mountain Bike Trail

Hop on this delightful 7-mile paved bike path from that leads from the trailhead in Sevier, UT (just off Highway 89) and ends at the Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort. The trailhead has pit toilet restroom facilities and a large parking area.

After a day of exploration, we found ourselves in Marysvale, a town rich with gold mining heritage. Visitors can pan for gold in this historic prospecting town.

Following the recommendations of the locals, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Tomatoes Pizza Pie in Marysvale. The pizza was amazing, and the staff were so friendly!

Monroe Canyon

And for a sweet finale, we headed back to Monroe for ice cream at the Monroe Canyon RV Park. This is also where we stayed during our visit to the area. It is a wonderful, family-owned RV park. The owners are super friendly, and we highly recommend staying here if you have an RV.

There is a fun gift shop with ice cream on site as well as a few farm animals to visit (goats, chickens, and rabbits). The ice cream is divine! You don’t have to be a guest to enjoy a sweet treat, visitors are welcome to stop by and indulge their sweet tooth.
